Dr. Barrak Al Zomia, was born and raised in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Radiological Sciences at King Saud University in 1995. He finished his Master’s and PhD in Medical Physics in the UK.
He had his internship for Radiological Imaging Technology at Riyadh Medical Complex, under the supervision of the College of Applied Medical Sciences. After his PhD, he started working at the Imaging Department, King Abdulaziz Medical City-Riyadh as Medical Physicist and Radiation Officer. During his practice he was responsible in the Quality Assurance of Equipment, Monitoring Personnel and Patient’s Radiation Doses. He works closely in the implementation of the national and international radiation and safety regulations within the department.
He joined KAIMRC in 2009; he supervised the KAIMRC Scholarship Program until 2012. During the first quarter of 2012, he transitioned the role of the Deputy Operations Director. And in 2014 up to the present, he is the Operations Director for KAIMRC. He gave lectures for Radiology at the King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
After receiving his joint appointment recently, as an Assistant Professor, he started giving lectures in Radiological Sciences at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, KSAU-HS.
Despite his busy schedule he was able to accomplish his research projects and participates in committees as a chairperson. He also attended and presented in various national and international conferences/symposia.
- Ph. Athari Al-Otaibi has more than 17 years experience in healthcare and health research management.
- Now, Ph. Athari is a director for Science and technology unit in Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia since Aug 2017.
- Also, Ph. Athari is the director general of the general directorate for research and Studies, Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia since May, 2018.
- Ph. Athari leads main projects in MOH, for example but not limited to, Setting MOH Research Priorities, capability building program in 2018 by training for 638 candidates, academic collaboration program between MOH and universities aiming for executing 43 research projects.
- As a leading ambitious person, she leads the general directorate for research and studies in MOH to establish the comprehensive guideline for research management, electronic research database MOH research award program and E-Review system for submission and reviewing health research and clinical trials.
- Ph. Athari is strongly involved in the development of IRB in different health directorate regions among KSA, consequently she succeeded to unify SOPs of all IRB within MOH.
- PH. Athari believes about the role of scientific research to improve and enhance the welfare for the Saudi citizen and the prosperity for KSA.
- Now she actively works to attract the Saudi capabilities in health research and utilizing their efforts to improve MOH health research environment.
Dr. Abeer A. Al-Masri, is acting as the Vice Deanship of Scientific Research at King Saud University. She is also the Director of the Undergraduate Research Support Program, and is also acting as an Assistant Director of the Research Chairs Program for health research chairs.
She is an Associate Professor and Consultant in the Cardio-vascular field, College of medicine, King Saud University. In addition, she is the Head of the Cardiovascular Research Group. She is having many scientific publications in her research field, and is a member in many Scientific Associations and Committees.
She worked previously as the Vice- Dean of College of Medicine, and was a member of the twining program between “King Fahad Cardiac Center, KSU, SA” and the “Imperial College London, Harefield Heart Science Centre and Cardiovascular Sciences,
London, UK”.
She had Women’s Leadership Training at Harvard’s Business School, Boston, USA.
Eng. Abdullah Al-Mintashry has a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) , Dhahran , Saudi Arabia and a Master Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee , United States. He has more than 17 years of accumulated experience assuming various roles at SABIC and National Industrial Cluster Development Program (NICDP).
Currently, he is working in NICDP as an Acting Vice President for the Pharmaceuticals and Bio-Technology Cluster ,. NICDP is a government organization, part of the Saudi Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources. NICDP role is to provide support in identification and provocation of key industrial enablers from different perspectives in alignment with other government agencies to support the industrial and manufacturing sectors in the kingdom.
The Pharma & Biotech sector has been identified under vision 2030 as strategic and national security segment in the National Transformation Program (NTP 1.0) as well as the recently established National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP)
Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Alya Redhwan is Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Princess Nourah University (PNU) where she also serves as the Coordinator of the Microbiology & Immunology Research Center of its Health Sciences Research Center. In 2018, she became the first ambassador of the UK-based Society of General Microbiology (SGM) in Saudi Arabia. Having undertaken all of her graduate education in England, Dr. Alya Redhwan’s research interests revolve around bacterial virulence mechanisms. Her passion for research extends to the development and empowerment of scientific research in the region and her community where she is now serving as a Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Publishing Affair at PNU
Dr.Salam Massadeh has a PhD degree in the field of Nanotechnology in bio-imaging; from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. And a Master’s degree, in the field of Drug Delivery Systems, college of pharmacy, University of Reims Champagne Ardennes, France. In addition, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Jordan University of Science and Technology. Dr.Massadeh is Member of the Royal Pharmacists Society (RPS), United kingdom. And a member of the International Federation of Pharmacists(FIP), and several other bodies.
Dr.Massadeh is experienced in therapy development, drug delivery systems, bio-nanotechnology, and the use of nanotechnology for gene therapy.
In her current position, Dr.Massadeh is leading the therapy development lab under the Developmental Medicine Department (DMD) at KAIMRC. Besides, she is the principle investigator of major research projects, and a co-Investigator of many other research projects related to therapy development, gene therapy, gene discovery and pharmacogenetics. In her current position, she has initiated collaborations with international research groups in her field; she is also keen to work with colleagues from different research areas. Dr.Massadeh has published her research outcomes in international peer reviewed journals. Dr.Massadeh is also a member of editorial boards of scientific journals and scientific books.
