
Dr. Alaa Yassine
His research line focuses on enhancing the delivery of challenging class 4 drugs with emphasis on anticancer agents. He did an extensive work in developing nano-drug delivery including solid lipid, polymeric, and polymer-lipid hybrid nanoparticles, in addition to vesicular nano-systems including mixed-micelles, liposomes and niosomes. He also has extensive experience in different site specific delivery particularly; colonic and gastro-retentive systems. Dr Yassin has been successful in securing 10M SR research fund for his research in the last 10 years. He was the recipient of the teaching Excellency and research Excellency awards from KSU (2009) and Kayali Prize for Scientific Research, Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, 2014. Dr. Yassin has obtained his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics through the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996 under the supervision of Prof. Joseph Robinson. Dr Yassin supervised more than 20 graduate students and had more than 80 publications and international conference presentations.
